The idea of PIC was conceived by a
group of insurance and business professionals
who recognized the need for a
privately held insurance company in Antigua
and Barbuda, that offers a wide
variety of quality insurance products at
an affordable rate. After a considerable
amount of preparatory activities, and after
studying the results of a feasibility
study, the group was satisfied that there
is a need and a market demand for a private
insurance company that specializes
in risk management, offering adequate
coverage, affordable premium, and quick
claim settlement to the people of Antigua
and Barbuda. The originators wasted
no time in seeking professional consulting
to ensure that the project would be a
commercial success, and assembling a
team of committed individuals who
would pilot the establishment of the
company. PIC thus became a reality.
People’s Insurance Company Ltd. (PIC) founded was by Dr. Rolston Barthley, an Antiguan insurance professional with an international reputation for honesty, integrity and expertise in insurance. All shareholders (including staff shareholders) are Antiguans.

company, and that service philosophy will
be a cornerstone of the company. An overriding
philosophy of PIC is that people
come first, and that was the idea behind the
